Lord Capulet's view on love
Midterm
I am giving myself 23% for this section because I always come to class on time except I have 3 or 4 absences. I always comment on edmodo posts by Mr. Neuf and contribute my own ideas in online class discussions rather than class discussions we have within the classroom. When it comes to essays or other assignments I need to work alone because sometimes it gets hard to work in class without a computer. I don't really volunteer or share ideas with the class out loud which I should try to do more often, On twitter, I tweeted most of the tweets for "Romeo and Juliet." My class behavior is good. I don't talk to many people unless I'm told to because of an assignment, I work very independently. My task time in class I usually gather up ideas and finish up the work on a computer because its easier unless the assignment is due in class time.
Twitter - link to all tweets.
Some of my examples of participating in class discussions.
B: 20/25%
I give myself 20% for assignment completion because I have completed 14/16 assignments, most of them were late because it gets hard to to focus on class especially without a computer but when I'm at home I can think better and do my assignments with more detail and thought.
C: 23/25%
When it comes to the quality of my assignments I give myself 23%, even though I hand in assignments late the quality of my work is good and I always take the time to go back and edit or add new ideas to my assignment. I will also look at other classmate's blogs and use their ideas sometimes on my posts, even if I don't understand how to do an assignment looking at someone else's blog and reading their post helps me with mine by connecting with their ideas. I try to take personal connections with my work but it takes a lot more than that, I always add picture and links to sources where I got my information from which makes my work good quality.
An example of blog post that I did really well on and Mr. Neuf commented on it asking me more questions, which I added on into my blog post.
Blogger
D: 15/25%
I give myself 15% for class contribution. My presence in class is really quiet, but if I need help I will ask for it and if others look like they need help or ask for it I will help them. I comment on almost everybody's blog posts. I might have missed in total probably 2 or 3 people but no matter who it is, I comment my opinions and thoughts on their blogs. I remember helping a classmate when they lost track of where we were while reading Romeo and Juilet, other than that I have not helped with technology. Overall, I think I deserve 81%.
These are some of my comments on three different people's blogs.

Stress Song
I just ate a plate for breakfast
Put it in a cup, then I mix it up with Texas
Chest feeling heavy like a midget on my necklace
*itches that we came with got all of your *itches jealous
'Bout to leave the crib with a couple of my pirates
Driving by the streets we used to walk through like a triumph
Mix it in a potion like a science
That liquid G diet got a n**** so quiet
'Cause the shit so strong, got me feeling like I'm dying
The shit so raw, nothing else can get me higher
Only time you see me's when I'm balling with my n****s
'Cause my life too private, my ride too private
My flight too private, my show's so riot
My jaw so tired, I go all night in my city to the fall
Then it's time for me to fly her
I got a girl at home even though she ain't flying
And she gon' give it up 'cause she know I might like it
And she gon' give it up 'cause she know I might like it
And she gon' give it up 'cause she know I might like it
Baby girl, you know what I like, baby, you know just what I like
Baby, you know what I like (like like like like like)
Don't be mad, let her get hers
She make her own luck
She don't give a f****
She trying to have fun
Take a break from the love
Man, your girl so bad, let me get her
Your girl so bad, let me get her
I make my own luck, I make that p**** talk
On call to the fall, you can like it or not
N****, back the fuck up
If you ain't with me, motherf*****, you against me
If you ain't complimenting, n****, you offending
I been out here last year wasting hella time
XO is the only time investment
Them fall shows every year like a birthday
And I'mma do it every year in my birthplace
And I ain't been this gone since Thursday
I never said that I'd be sober in the first place
And she gon' give it up 'cause she know I might like it
And she gon' give it up 'cause she know I might like it
And she gon' give it up 'cause she know I might like it
Baby girl, you know what I like, baby, you know just what I like
Baby, you know what I like (like like like like like)
Baby, you know what I like, hm
I just passed that liquor, fell off stage
I just sold out the 02 at my own pace
I can say that I'm attached to nobody
I been getting paper while these niggas tryin' a stop me
Shout my n**** Doc, that's a mentor
Had some bad business, nothing personal
But now the word out that we back on
Some young Quincy Jones, dark skin Michael Jackson
And these the mother******* that they packaged
Their new s*** all be sounding like my past s***
Bring your girl to my show, give her floor seats
Then she go downtown like she owe me
XO, XO, XO, mix it up, pour it up, take it down slow
This is my sound, n****, f*** your sound
Did it from the ground, ask around, b****
When I touch down, I'mma shake s*** up
F*** your new man, I'mma break it up
He can come back when I go on the road
But that p**** mine for the next three months
'Cause the kid back, kid back, kid back
Cop ten whips for my n***** when we land
Queen Street, n****, making money overseas
Had a few more debts, I'mma pay it all in cash
Shout out XO, shout out to "The Boy" broke bread on tour
Man, it's all love now
Shout out my nigga Stix, doing good in these streets
Man he popping more bottles then us right now
Reason why they stressing, city never sunny
When the kid come through with more n***** than Apollo
But ain't s*** funny, can't nobody stop me
All my hoes are trained, I make all of them swallow
All of them swallow
All of them swallow
All of them swallow
I make all of them swallow
All of them swallow
All of them swallow
All of them swallow
I make all of them swallow
All of them swallow
All of them swallow
All of them swallow
I make all of them swallow
All of, all of
All of them swallow

Essay Topic B
B) There are a wide variety of relationships in this play including lovers, marriages, parents/kids, cousins, friendships, and religious. Choose the one that you think best represents the complexity of a modern teenager's relationship and provide quotes from the play that help you connect them to one another. Why do you think the relationships are so similar despite being centuries apart? What do you think Shakespeare would think about current teens? Why? Support your position with research and or examples from the play.
I picked this topic instead because there are many complex relationships in this play that describes a teenagers life and relationship. There are many examples that showcase how these relationships work in a teenagers life and I can write about the relationships Juliet has in her household.

Romeo & Juliet Chorus
Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. These lines are describing the Capulets and Montagues, who are two different families that live in Verona and have ancient history with each other as in bad blood. These families absolutely despise each other and have violent conflicts.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life; Whose misadventured piteous overthrows Do with their death bury their parents' strife. These lines are about Romeo and Juliet, its describing how they cross paths with each other and fall so deeply in love that they die for each other in the end and when they're families are burying them, they will also bury their feud with each other too.
The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
And the continuance of their parents' rage, Which, but their children's end, nought could remove, Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage; The which if you with patient ears attend, What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend. These last lines mean that their deaths left a mark of love, they loved each other so much that they died for each other literally because they loved each other and their deaths brought peace to each others family.
I think this chorus is used to describe both families that live in Verona who have a long history of violent conflict with each other, and the war with each other will finally be over when two lovers cross paths with each other without even knowing that they are moral enemies. The two lovers Romeo and Juliet will die in the play which leaving no choice to both families but to make peace making it the main idea in the story. This chorus also tells us some information about the story, such as where it takes place, some information about the main characters. The chorus is basically telling people what is going to happen in the play.

Part 4: To A Stranger
The very beginning says " Passing stranger! you do not know how longingly I look upon you, You must be he I was seeking, or she I was seeking, (it comes to me as of a dream,). This line to me means that a passing stranger isn't actually a passing stranger but it was someone that Walt knew, he wanted to get to know more and this person comes in his dreams and thoughts. It isn't clear that this poem is about a girl or a boy but I feel that the poem is secretive so it can be a boy. Back in his day being bisexual maybe wasn't a choice so he had to hide it, but share it without the clear message being read.
The next lines supporting my thoughts are, " I ate with you and slept with you, your body has become not yours only nor left my body mine only, You give me the pleasure of your eyes, face, flesh as we pass." Walt probably couldn't express himself towards his lover back then because it would be considered wrong, so instead of receiving the pleasure of love the way a man and woman would he got it just by the look of this boy's eyes, face and body when he saw him.
One of the last lines are " I am not to speak to you, I am to think of you when I sit alone or wake at night alone," this line can also explain why this poem would be more about a boy than a girl. If Walt couldn't make conversation with this person, he could at least think about him when he is alone at night.
Last is my connection to the part that says " I am to think of you when I sit alone or wake at night alone," this reminds of me and how before I go to sleep I think about the guy I like all the time even when I'm alone. It helps me sleep honestly and calms me down, that one person can have so much impact on your mind.

Charles bukowski- Change or Stay?
Charles has been through a lot, but lets say he did improve on his lifestyle, got a decent job, lived in a nice apartment and had food and money, it wouldn't make him the poet he is known for today. The poet he is known for is the one who stayed content with his life. If he wasn't poor, wasn't finding himself waking up in cheap hotels or next to a prostitute he wouldn't have wrote about it and gotten to the place he is now where people look up to him as an American poet. His writing also made him famous and his writing was mainly about alcohol, relationships with women and work.
In my personal life I can relate to this poem in two ways. The first way is insecurity, in the last verse of the poem it is written " and to walk across the floor to an old dresser with a cracked mirror- see myself, ugly, grinning at it all." I have a lot of insecurities and looking in the mirror makes everything worse. No one is perfect and I think we all have to accept the way we look and if it is possible to change something then you can put your mind to it but if you can't then you have to just learn to live with it. Charles felt he was ugly, I feel like that too sometimes about my body but I just have to accept it or do something. The second way I relate to this poem is difficulties I've been through. In last line which reads, " What matters most is how well you walk through the fire." As I mentioned in the comment section, I can relate to this line because I have myself not gone through what Charles has gone through, but something different. I think every human being has gone through situations experiencing excruciating pain mentally and physically but they've made it through the fire. Its like the saying "I've been through hell," but you made it. I have gone through the fire is also an example of an idiom. The line means to go through danger or difficulties. An example of difficulty I've gone through is bullying. I've done things I'm not proud of, on the Internet and I've gotten bullied for it for almost two years in high school. I've made it though on my own and my friends have helped me along the way. I think without whatever happened, I wouldn't be as strong as I am today, which makes me who I am today...
More reasons to which why Charles should stay content, or we would may have not known a Charles Bukowski.

Tattoo
1.The word Infinity: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Infinity+symbol
1. The quality or condition of being infinite.
2. Unbounded space, time or quantity.
3. An indefinitely large number or amount.
2. Infinity symbol:
Google definition-
- Infinity (symbol: ∞) is an abstract concept describing something without any limit and is relevant in a number of fields, predominantly mathematics and physics.
- 4. http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/infinity
- These links are also sources I used for my research.
- The word infinity in general means the quality or state of endlessness or having no limits in terms of time or space. In math infinity is a "numberless" number and is symbolized by the lemniscate which looks like the number 8 written sideways. This symbol for infinity was first used in the 1600's by a mathematician named John Wallis. I am linking this symbol to my tattoo because my grandma will be with me forever looking over me and this tattoo will forever be on my body, bounding me and her forever. The infinity sign is also very small and through the loop will be her initials in capital handwriting which are C.K.B. I would get this tattoo on my left shoulder because it feels right to me. I write with my left and it would feel more powerful to me. Another reason why I chose this symbol is because it is small, which I want my tattoo to be like. If people see my tattoo I hope they would understand the basic meaning of the infinity symbol which most people do, and see that I have initials of someone that meant so much to me I got a tattoo. I would say for sure that my values are covered in this tattoo especially the main one which is love. This is not an EXACT accuracy of my tattoo, but it is something like this I want in black ink.

Extended Metaphor
Example:
[Verse 1]
I seen some cold nights and bloody days
They grab me and bullets spray
They use me wrong so I sing this song til this day
My body is cold steel for real
I was made to kill, that's why they keep me concealed
Under car seats they sneak me in clubs
Been in the hands of mad thugs
They feed me when they load me with mad slugs
Seventeen precisely, one in my head
They call me Desert Eagle, semi-auto with lead
I'm seven inches four pounds, been through so many towns
Ohio to Little Rock to Canarsie, living harshly
Beat up and battered they pull me out
I watch as n****s scattered, making me kill
But what I feel it never mattered
When I'm empty I'm quiet, finding myself fiending to be fired
A broken safety, n****s place me in shelves
Under beds so I beg for my next owner to be a thoroughbred
Keep me full up with hollow heads
In verse one Nas raps " I see some cold nights and bloody days, they grab me and bullets spray, they use me so wrong so I sing this song til this day." He fits into this part because it means that in his life he has seen some cold nights and bloody days referring to actual fighting as the gun and life he has experienced. The next line he raps, "My body is cold steel for real." The gun is not the only metaphor he uses but he refers to the thick and cold steel for his skin. The third part he raps " I was made to kill, that's why they keep me concealed, under car seats they sneak me in clubs, been in the hands of mad thugs." In this line he talks about the gun and how it is a weapon that is made to take someones life and how guns are hidden since people do not have them out in the open. Guns can be hidden under car seats, pockets and even tucked into pants which makes it easier to sneak into places. The last line means that guns have been in the hands of violent and mad gangsters. The fourth line he says "They feed me when they load me with mad slugs." He means loading the gun with bullets, feeding it with trade and violence. If you skip a few lines and go to the line that says " They pull me out I watch as n****s scattered, making me but what I feel never mattered." Nas is describing himself as the gun and people run away from him even though he does not want to kill he has no say either way, like a gun has no feelings. The next line is " When I'm empty I'm quiet finding myself fiending to be fired." An empty gun does not make noise when the trigger is pulled and fired, he also uses personification of an empty gun wanting to be fired as himself looking for conflict or trouble if there isn't any. The last line he ends of the verse by saying, " A broken safety, n****s place me in shelves, under beds so I beg for my next owner to be a thoroughbred, keep me full up with hollow heads." The gun has no safety space, meaning the safety of people around the gun is also broken and shelves are spots where guns are usually hidden or put in place. To be official thoroughly bred for killing and always keep the gun loaded and ready to go, as in Nas himself. Hollow refers to hollow bullets, that wound more than original bullets. Myers Briggs Personality Test.
Occupations that suit me are dental hygienist, sales representative, entrepreneur, detective, carpenter and a paramedic. I got really happy when I got dental hygienist as my occupation because that is my career path I want to get into! In planning class I knew I wanted something in the medical field and it was going to be a dentist.
Some famous people of my combo traits are Bruce Lee, Tom Cruise, Burt Reynolds and Zachary Taylor which is pretty awesome to find out!
By doing a test like this you find out a lot about yourself some things that you probably already knew and other things that you did not know. For example I already knew some of the traits about myself but other traits I discovered is that I am more introverted than extroverted. I thought the compete opposite but when I think about it it is kind of in the middle of the scale, but it is true. You should not only take a test once about yourself because you can always change. You should keep taking it you never know your results can change or remain the same!
